Part 5
"Let it be known, that from this day forward..." Orell hesitated. He looked out unto the mass of Galios. The sun beat down hard on his face, and he was sweating profusely. He swallowed. "I declare Jakon Vaegar, grandson of Jakob Jaegar, the heir and rightful lord of Galios." Jakon stepped forward. For a moment, the crowd was silent. Then, small groups of people began cheering. Supporters of House Jaegar's claim to Galios. Jakon knew he would not be alone, and yet, half of the crowd was still silent. The city was not oblivious to the vanguard that marched into Galios, and Jakon knew it.
Orell asked when he was going to see the king, but the question fell on deaf ears. Jakon ordered his men to take Orell back to his cell, and headed inside the temple. The temple, which was usually only occupied by Orell and a few worshippers, was now guarded by Jakon's men, and was a base of operations for the new Count.
"Did all go well, my lord?" Sage asked.
"Better than expected. Which is all we can hope for in such a tense time. Is the letter prepared?"
"Yes, my lord." Sage showed him the letter addressed to King Kyn, sealed with the Crest of Galios.
"Have a messenger and a couple of guards deliver it to Floggen. Make sure the guards are dressed in proper Galian military attire. A messenger with mercenaries at his side is suspicious."
"At once, my lord." Sage bowed out, and started to head out.
"One more thing, Sage."
"Yes, my lord?"
"Execute Orell."
