So I was just wondering, what are we doing for the timeline? I seem to recall someone saying the time the site was down would not count into the lore, but I thought I would ask to make sure. Either way, does anyone know the current date? Or, for that matter, the method of timekeeping, 'cause I can only remember bits and pieces? |

I'm only recently back so I don't know what really happened around here. But I know you can see some of the old timeline on the way back machine: Old main page: https://web.archive.org/web/20141221220 ... =Main_Page Lore and info items: https://web.archive.org/web/20130810101 ... the_Empire A lot of the links on that second page still work. There's a good amount of data that may be recoverable on there. I would personally be happy to see something like that old library re-created with some sort of wiki backend and populated with this old data to get it going. |

We should maybe copy and paste those or something sooner or later just in case the archive is no longer there. Also I personally would like to not count the period of inactivity due to "technical" problems out of our control. |

I've heard it discussed that the period of inactivity could be treated as a "dark age" caused by the chaos of the Regent leaving the Empire. It would explain the loss of information on the library and the reduction, to a certain extent, of our numbers. |

That would be a cool addition to the lore I think Chairman. Do you think we should lose all of the mercurian years or just some of them. I am more concerned with having to create a new player without actually being able to create a decent lore for him. |

I've made a post about this in the History sub-forum, and will re-iterate I am happy to assist with gathering these archives if help is requested! |

I would personally be for a 'Dark Age' Period with a reduced time. That way everyone can keep their characters (unless they were very old) but also it would be a suitable lore explanation for the reduction in numbers/exit of the regent. Also I would like to start a discussion on how we will explain Cody's world-edit. I've made a post about it here: http://www.hermertia.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=70 The summary is that actions in Ikwe led to a widespread collapse of the city and the departure of The Regent. Given his integral part in international affairs his departure created a period of instability resulting in the 'Dark Ages' around large portions of the empire as world leaders convened on the Imperial City. I would also be pro the idea of an Arson attack on libraries to explain the loss of also of the wiki/history. I don't think the 'Dark Ages' were particularly dark as the serve has been up longer than the website with development in the Imperial City. |
