Hello! I'm Chronnis/Dylan.
I stumbled random on Hermertia on Reddit(I think?). I'm 24, male, and I really like what you guys are doing here.
I don't have any super cool screenshots of "builds" or anything like that. I've never been one for playing creative mode. What draws me most to this server is the collective lore/world-building, similar to DnD.
In game, my eventual goal is to be an explorer/frontiersman. I'd plan to explore/map more portions of the world and establish establish some frontier towns in the name of whoever would have me, either that or eventually establish my own territories.
As far as skills/talents, I'm pretty decent with redstone, but not a magician. I can build okay looking buildings but I've never done anything crazy big before. I think it'd be a fun experience to help someone out with a large project.
I'm a programmer, not a writer. Lore following: -------------------------------------------------------------------- -Before you stands a man, stout and shorter than average. His face is weathered, and you can see scars on his hands and arms. Despite his rough exterior, you can see the spark of youth in his eyes, the mischievous smirk, and recognize: He's not beaten yet.
"Greetings, everyone! I am Chronnis Axefall, a blacksmith, from the land of Strassem in the far north. I've come in search of a place to call home and forge a new and bright future! War and plague have left my homeland in a poor state, bad times and bad memories. -shudder- Me, I entered military service during the summer of my 22nd year, as was expected, but not required, of all young men in Strassem. I served for 10 years, I did, warring with our neighbors to the east over land that was more barren than not.
During my leave, a two year rest between my fourth and fifth years of service, I met the love of my life, Anabell. We were married in short order, and soon we had a beautiful baby girl, Kiara. Aye, but I had to leave them and return to the field.
Three long, long years later I returned, my duties done, only to find that the plague had taken them both during the winter. Heartbroken, I was, and lost. So I did the only thing what made sense, heh, I rejoined the military.
It was there I spent the next three years, fightin' and grievin', grievin' and fightin', and it sparked something in me that I'd never known before: the wanderlust, the thirst for adventure. And so I packed my bag, turned my feet southward, and began to travel.
Almost two years later, I am here, ready to forge a new home in new lands." ... "Oh? Why am I so short? Well, I'm half-dwarf, of course!" -------------------------------------------------------------------- More non-lore:
Well guys I hope I've made enough of an impression to gather some votes!
Here are some answers to other questions I've seen asked to applicants.
-Are you particular to building in certain biomes?
I'm not super picky but I do prefer something with trees or decent hills.
-If you ran into conflict where you and another player wanted to build in the same location, how would you resolve the issue?
I'd give it up or offer to co-build. I'm not very adamant about where I need to build things and my epic build skills are sub-par anyway.
-So firstly I ask which nation at this time seems most interesting, whether it's culture, people, actual lands, just about anything. Tell me why!
Wysteria, for sure. It's out on the edge of known civilization! I can't even find a proper map of it. Sounds like a good time.
